     Moldavite is a rare and captivating green tektite formed from a meteorite impact approximately 15 million years ago. Originating primarily in the region of Bohemia, this natural glass is directly linked to the massive Nördlinger Ries Crater event in present-day Germany. When the meteorite struck Earth, intense heat and pressure fused terrestrial rock with extraterrestrial material, ejecting molten debris that cooled rapidly as it fell—forming Moldavite’s signature olive-green, etched, and sculptural appearance.

Geologically, Moldavite is classified as a tektite, composed primarily of silicon dioxide with trace elements such as aluminum and iron.
